You Don't Have to
Navigate This Alone

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I provide thoughtful, evidence-based care to help individuals navigate mental health challenges with clarity, support, and compassion.

My Journey

From Witnessing Crisis to Supporting Healing

My path to becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner was shaped by years of caring for people at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. As a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), emergency room nurse, and inpatient behavioral health nurse, I witnessed firsthand how trauma, stress, and untreated mental health concerns affect both the mind and body.

In these settings, I often met people at their worst—during crisis, fear, and profound loss of control. While stabilizing patients was essential, I felt called to do more than help people survive the moment. I wanted to support true recovery and long-term healing.

That calling led me to advanced training in psychiatric care, functional psychiatry, perinatal mental health, medication deprescribing, and the treatment of eating disorders. Over time, my approach evolved into one that integrates lifestyle psychiatry, thoughtful medication use, and whole-person care—always grounded in safety, compassion, and evidence-based practice.

Why I Do What I Do

Because Healing Deserves More Than Symptom Management

I believe that when people struggle with their mental health, it is not because they are weak, broken, or failing. Mental health symptoms are often the result of complex interactions between biology, trauma, stress, and life circumstances.

I do this work because I’ve seen what happens when care stops at symptom management alone—and how transformative it can be when patients are truly understood. My passion lies in helping individuals make sense of what they’re experiencing, feel supported rather than blamed, and participate actively in their healing.

At Mendem, my goal is to partner with patients to create personalized, sustainable treatment plans that support long-term mental wellness. Whether that includes medication, lifestyle changes, functional insights, or gradual deprescribing, care is always collaborative and tailored to the individual.
